I am in trouble

My loving daughter has been the epitome of the perfect “terrible two”. Everything is a fight right now and just when it gets so bad that I feel like jumping out of a 10 story building, she goes and does something so cute that all I want to do is squeeze her and never let her go. She has that built in ability to push me to my limit and then regain all of my happiness with one gesture or smile. If I could just bottle this shit.

The other day she was hiding under my mother’s shirt while it was physically on her body. My mom was acting like she didn’t know where she was. “Where is Toots?” “Has anyone seen Toots?” All of a sudden from under her shirt, you hear Toots yell, “Grandma, I am up stairs”.

I had Target bags full of toiletries that I had just bought. It was really quiet and I decided to go see what my loving 2 year old was up to. She had put it all away. In the right places. Places that she can’t reach without moving furniture. She is 2. I knew I had her for a reason.

Toots demanded her nightly sippy of milk to take to her room. She was holding on to it for dear life when she turned to me with the devils look and yelled “mommy, get me my milk”. I started to look around when I noticed it in her little grubby paws. I said “look at your hands”. She looks down and said “good thing” and rolls her eyes.

I am raising a mini me, the me before I became AWARE of being an ass! Good Lord am I in trouble.

  1. With that look you're definitely in trouble. Honestly when our kids bother us it's usually a place where we are lacking like boundaries. You'll be a better person for learning what you need and let me tell you it'll save your sanity when she gets older since it only gets harder.

  3. What a stinker! But so precious too. And I can't believe she put away all your toiletries like that. That'll come in handy if she keeps it up!

  4. What a cute little pucker face! My smoochie used to never go to bed without his Ovaltine in a sippy. For years. I breastfed him for a long time, I think he needed to suckle.

  5. I hate it when my kiddo does something bad, but I can't contain my laughter. She and my kiddo would get along great! Did you get her potty trained btw? I finally did it!

  6. I'm impressed with her putting everything away. At my age, I still don't put things away!
An itty, bitty note of concern (with good intentions!) about the sippy cup with milk. I work for a pediatric dentist and this is one of our big no nos. Has Toots been to the dentist yet? We see a lot of 2 years old with mouths full of decay and recommend the 1st dental visit by age 1.

  7. Bwahahahaha! Wow girl, this cracked me up. You are TOTALLY in trouble.

My 8 year old and I are having fun with the 'tude we see in my 5 year old sometimes. She cracks us both up.

Like the other day when the 8 yr old and I were in my bathroom and my 5 yr old was in their bedroom. The little one sneezed but her sister and I didn't stop our conversation. Then we heard her say, "Hello?! Can I get a 'Bless you' from someone?!"

LOL! Kids are so dang funny.

So don't sweat it it'll pass soon . I went through it with my daughter who is now 20 and now my grandson who is 18 months old . One of these days you'll want this back your gonna look back and wonder where all the time went I do .

  16. That's hilarious she hid under your mom's skirt, and still said "I'm upstairs!" I did shit like that when I was a toddler. Ah, the memories of being a kid.
