I think I will keep her!

I though it was the terrible 2’s. In all honesty, my daughter has been a challenge since the day she was born. She never sat quietly in a car seat as a baby, has never been able to sit in a highchair and eat a meal. When she wants something, she will whine and cry until she gets it. (Even if it is 3 days later, I swear) She is stubborn, demanding and bossy as hell. She has a temper that would scare off a rabid dog. She tests the waters with everything. She pushes every button, tests every limit and uses any resource available to her to see what will happen if... She wants attention every second of the day and she is going to get it by golly! 3’s are turning out to be a much harder age that is for sure.

Hmmm, she sounds a lot like someone else I know!!!

Every single time my little girl pushes me to a breaking point she turns on the charm and kicks my ass even harder. I have blogged about this time and time again.

Here are a few things that keep me from stabbing one of us with a sharp pencil.

She was looking in the mirror the other day and turned to check out her butt! WTH is that?

When I lavish her with kisses she immediately starts to wipe them off. I then start tickling her and saying “you can’t wipe a kiss from mommy off”. Her response. “Mommy, I not wiping them off, I rubbing them in!”

I can’t get her finger out of her nose. It has been surgically implanted in there for about 2 months now. Anyone have tips on getting that one to stop?

She has me rolling around on the ground with her hour long babble singing at the top of her lungs and her favorite saying... “Wha up dawgie?”

We had a big snow storm this year and I was saying that getting to the house was going to be tricky. When we finally made it I turned to Toots and started cheering and acting silly “we made it baby girl, we made it!” Now, every time we pull up to the house she exclaims “we made it mommy, we made it!” I laugh every time.

So, there you have it again. All the reasons why I am going to keep her for a little while longer!

  1. Too funny. Well with the mirror, she's probably seeing someone else do it. I'm not pointing any fingers or anything.

Happy to say I never had the nose problem with my son. Now farts that's a whole different story, but he is a boy.

  2. Yeah, she's a keeper. You know I'll take her out on loan anytime! And I told you 3 was worse than 2!

I'm guessing she learned the butt thing from LO though cuz she's always sticking it out and telling people to look at it. Seriously. Though I imagine she has also seen mommy check out her own rear in the mirror a time or two. ;)

  3. lol... I hear you. My little princess is she the world revolves around her... and has since the day she was born... she too never sat calmly in anything... she screamed the whole way home from the hospital... she hated the car.... thank god for portable dvd players and baby einstein..lol...she's 4 now.. and not too much has changed...terrible twos? how about 3's and 4's... but when she looks up at me with those big brown eyes and says... "I love you to the moon mommy"..... my heart belongs to that little drama princess.... : ) I like to think of her as... I dunno... 'creatively aggressive"... lol... Oh.. and on nose picking... i have her convinced i can see everything.. even when she hides under the blankets to 'trick' me... her famous line... "Im just 'scratching' it mommy"....

  6. Haha ! Don't think she'll ever stop picking her nose. She'll just get sneakier about it. Picking your nose is as American as apple pie, so have fun with that.

I wonder if she caught you checking out your own ass in the mirror and mimicked you ?

I started checking out my ass very early, and I still do. It's a daily ritual.

  7. You know where she gets ALL of these character traits from, right? Right?

  8. You could also adopt my reasoning: the kids are the only things I own outright. What an accomplishment!

  12. I have ALWAYS thought that three was way worse than two, just like Minday. But just wait for four, four is LOVELY. Truly the best time ever.

  13. What a little cutie. :) It's great you're documenting this stuff on your blog so she can look back and enjoy it one day.

  14. She's pretty darn cute, too.

My boys run away when I try to kiss them. I have to sneak in and do it when they're alseep. *sigh*

  16. Taylor used to pick her nose a lot when she was little..

Well, until I told her that she had a snail with teeth that lived in her nose that would bite her finger off if she ever put it up there again.

    The end.

And yes, I do have money set back for her future therapy sessions.

  18. It may not be the cute things anymore, but they still give you reasons to keep 'em. Last night, I was so ready to throw in the towel with my 12-yr-old, but wouldn't you know, I was loving her all over again before the night was over!
