Santa, I have been a good little girl.

Life has been busy and interesting lately and I think it means that I am on the good girls list and going to have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS.

I am like a giddy child over watching my daughter learn about Santa, presents, reindeer, cookie exchanges, Christmas lights and family gatherings. It has been so much fun and I CAN"T WAIT until Christmas morning to see how she reacts. This will be the first year that she is somewhat starting to "get it" and I think it will be the best part of my year.

I went to a cookie exchange for the first time in my life last weekend. I get invited every year to go to it from a group of my high school friends, and every year, I make up a reason why I can't attend. This year, I decided to be a little more domestic for my daughters sake, and guess what? We had a blast. Call me Martha Stewart baby cause I will be attending from now on.

We went to the Botanical Gardens the other night to look at the lights. Toots and I were in awe at how beautiful they were. We drank hot coco and did some crafts and it was a great night.

I took Toots to see Santa, and that was not such a great event. She freaked out and I had to sit on his lap with her on mine. I had not planned on getting my picture taken and looked a little like a homeless person on crack and she looked like she was being abused. This picture will not be made into a Christmas card. In fact, it may not even exist past Christmas. It can not be said that I didn't try though.
I have had Sushi Christmas dinners with 2 different sets of girlfriends in the last two weeks and can I just tell you that that is my dream night out. Good friends, wine and raw fish, seriously, what more could a girl ask for?

All and all, 2009 has been a pretty good year (except that little divorce thing). Heh, can't have it all!

So Santa, as you can see, I have been too good of a girl this year and me thinks I need a really nice gift, you know the one that I have been dreaming about all year long!

  1. Well, I hope you get some - I mean it! ;)

I agree that sushi and wine with girlfriends is awesome! So how come I wasn't invited?

  2. Here's to an even better year next year, Danielle, and may Santa be very good to you.

  3. Rock on sister. I love a good night out with girlfriends!

Hope 2010 is the best year yet!

Merry Christmas to you and Toots!

  4. If you only have ONE gift on your Santa list... you should totally get it!

  5. Sounds like you have had fun as of late. That's awesome!

I hope you get that gift you've been wanting. :)

  6. Merry Christmas :) I had the same experience with Miss M doing the Santa picture this year. She looks totally depressed like she can't wait to get out of there and Daddy is sitting on Santa's lap all unshaven and dis-sheveled. Funny. It's her though. If I don't like it, I'm making a BIG pouty face :)

  7. Hey Martha Stewart! Kids and Santa gifts are fun times, indeed. My two kids are old enough to know, and yet they still want that Santa gift and their stocking filled. :-)

  8. You HAVE to save the homeless-on-Santa's lap pic. You will look back on it some day and crack up - your daughter will too. :)

  9. I've never been to a cookie exchange yet. I've always had to work. It sounds like a lot of fun.

  10. Every mom has had that same Santa experience!! It makes me laugh to think of Em at that age, me on Santa's lap, her on mine. How funny.

I hope you've had an enjoyable Christmas Danielle. HUGS and Bacon,

  11. I hope you had a very Merry Christmas! Also, Happy New Year! I hope 2010 is an awesome year for you.
