Having a child at the age of 36 still makes me laugh. A good friend of mine has two daughters ages 19 and 24. I have been around them since they were babies. So the part of being an old mom that makes me laugh is that the 24 year old has a son 6 months younger than toots. So, that means that my girlfriend is a grandmother to a child the same age as my daughter. The whole scenario just seems weird when we are all hanging around together. Not in a bad way, just a ha ha kind of way.
So, we all went to Eliches on Friday and had a blast. Toots rode in a little boat that cruises in circles all by her self. She was so excited. We tried to get my friends grandson to get in with her, but all he wanted to do was jump in the water. He almost dumped them both in as he was frantically trying to go swimming. She rode on the Merry-go-round and as we were leaving, she had to pet every single horse on the way out.
My friends grandson is crushin on toots. He tries hold her hand and kiss her every time we see him. I have taught her well so far though. She pushes him away and runs to me. God bless her. I just hope she keeps that up well into her 20's.
Then on to GNO with Mindy and Amira for some grown up time. It was the first time I had met either of them. I had a blast and stayed out waaaayyyyy too late. We actually closed the bar down. They are both such great, fun and admirable women.
The rest of the weekend was rough. Toots woke me up 3 hours after I fell asleep from the GNO and I was feeling the drinks from the night before. I tried to get her to take a nap so that I could uhemm take one too with no avail. So instead I painted a 2000sq ft basement with my mom and step dad. Toots still has paint everywhere.
All and all, a good but hang over induced weekend.
